The story behind HerStory

Till the age of 12 , I was as ignorant about what was happening around me , in the very society that I live in as a human could be . My opinions or rather my prejudices began being challenged for the first time when I saw a youtuber with similar background as me , who looked like me, confidently sharing her story with world . She loved herself in and out , she was ambitious , open minded , talked about her childhood experiences about being bullied for her skin colour , humilliated by her friends , treated as an outcaste by people around her, simply for looking differently than most of them . These experiences resonated with me .They encouraged me to not accept those experiences as my truth , to create a new story one which would encourage me to go to heights I have never been before both personally and academically . I loved the idea of questioning . It gave me power , it meant that I am in control of lens that I choose to look at the world with . It was thrilling and it still is . By watching her videos and discovering her channel I had a taste for the very first time of what it meant to love yourself and to question the opinions and expectations that are thrown at us from the moment we are born .After that I began reading books written by many revolutionary thinkers , poets , scientists. I was excited and thrilled to be able to choose between so many ideas to BE. I want to ask you some questions : How many of your ideas and opinions are really your own ? Why are you afraid of questioning yourself , of being different , of admiring an idea that most of the people don't even want to consider ? Are the things that you believe to be facts really facts ? I want you to sit down with these questions and make them your own . I almost regularly engage with the content of people that inspire me to learn about myself and the society that we live in , they inspire me to question my prejudices , learn new things , teach me how to question , how to fall more in love with myself everyday and succeed with my goal of becoming a woman that I would look up to . And one day I thought why don't I try my hand at things that inspire me personally , to finally take control of my life and my destiny , it was like admiring ideas but too scared to execute them and to bring them into my daily life . Creating this blog website is one way to this , to write about my views and opinions and to share stories of countless other women who didn't get to do the same even though they wanted to . I believe my main two reasons to start this blog website are voicing my opinions and giving life to my ideas that are waiting to be born but also to explore myself and discover my potential and bring to life the infinite versions of myself that lie dormant in each one of us . But how do we decide which story to believe and which to not ? Which story is true and which is just a habitual way of thinking that we are made to believe by people who are crony, hungry for power , hungry for satisfying their own greed ? The story to believe is the story that helps people see their best version and of other people , the story that frees us , which elevates the society at large , one which helps people become the most authentic and beautiful version of themselves . I long to write such stories , it is my greatest joy to bring these stories to the surface , to help them breath and see the daylight that they have been deprived of for centuries . And at the end what make a human - just infinite stories that even the nightsky can't hold waiting to be born , waiting to be told . This website is nothing but a request to slow down , take a look at your story , and if you don't like it create a new one . The stories going to be covered are as diverse as we are. I am also going to talk about books and novels that inspired me , challenged me , moved something in me and finally changed me .
